    My S52 Dyno Results

So I took my car to the dyno today, relevant mods are:
    OBD1 S52
    TMS Chip
    540 HFM
    24lb Injectors
    2.5 Exhaust

Results: 225.8hp @6450 and ~220lb/ft of tq @ ~4400(Can't tell exactly from the printout)
The torque curve is flat as a board from about 2500 up

The graph is in wmf format and I can't figure out how to get it up here. If anyone can help me it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

Well since you're the expert maybe. Then again, it was a Land and Sea dyno, and from what I understand they tend to read lower than mustangs and dynojets. Plus when you think about it that's not that far out of line for what it is. A basically stock S52 is rated at 240 crank hp. If you assume 15% driveline loss I'm putting out about 260hp. That sounds pretty close to right for the minimal amount of mods, it's not like adding, intake, exhaust and a flash or whatever actually gives you a true 5hp bump for each part or whatever.

I agree that your numbers make sense. These motors made 240hp at the flywheel. When yoiu add mileage and a few mods I think 225hp makes sense.

I agree I think its a tad bit on the low side, ive never heard of the dyno you use but a mustang dyno usualy reads about 15-20 percent lower than a dynojet dyno.Do you have a s50 intake manifold?

For info on the dyno http://www.land-and-sea.com/

I do have an S/M50 intake manifold. Like I said I'm not too concerned about it considering the variance you get in dyno results. A couple of 03 Cobras dyno'd before me and also got what they felt were low resuits, but again the variance in power isn't that serious. It's not like I'm showing 200whp out of it.

I'm sure that I could find more power with better software, I can't imagine that a chip tuned for a car with similar mods is going to be ideal given the differences in cars.

That's about what I am putting down (give or take), and I have a few more mods. I thought the same thing - I was a little disappointed. But at the end of the day it's a blast to drive and pretty damn quick.

The thing you really have to respect out of this engine is the area under the curve.

last time i went to the dyno jet with my friends car it put down 250-260 hp some where in thier. he has all the same mods except his is obdII and has a dinan chip but has 120,000 on the clock. would the really mean an add of 10-20hp just from that one chip?

I'd be really curious to see a dyno sheet and mod list for that car. My understanding is that 240 rwhp is the limit for an S52 NA with stock build/cams.

Here's the extensive dyno sheet library on BF, most examples seem to fall between 215 and 235 at the wheels...

using the 540 hfm do u get any throttle delay (since it's supposed to be the porsche or euro one)? just asking, because i have the same exact setup, and i'm trying to figure out my culprit...

Nope, it's all good. The chip was burned for a 540 hfm and not a euro or porsche one. I am pretty sure the 540 unit and the euro unit are very similar even if they are not the same.

What do you mean when you say throttle delay? Poor response?
