So the cooling fan on my car doesn't work (m50). The previous owner that swapped it decided to wire it into the ignition with a fuse. I've heard of people wiring it into their a/c aux fan wiring, car had a/c, but for the life of me I can't figure out what wires those are. I just have a wrapped bundle of wires along the front of the car. Anyone know what colors I should be looking for or where to trace from?

I am sorry i cannot help with wiring into the AC Wiring, but it really is simple to just do a direct Hardwire to a toggle switch.
Just ground the Fan, Ground the Switch and Take a wire directly form the battery to the switch and from the switch to the hot wire going into the fan.
It is just personal preference, i like to let my fan run while sitting in the pit to cool the coolent in the Radiator and force cooler air into the bay while just sitting there with the hood open.Dan Zickel

What size fuse should I use? I tried just putting a 20A in it to have a fan about a month ago and it blew within a couple weeks, which seems odd to me.Comment

If you don't have A/C, wire it to those wires. With a new radiator temp switch it will work all on its own, just like factory. You can also use the A/C button to turn it on manually.Comment

WTH!? So I was tracing the wires from the radiator temp switch and i see that the black one is cut, the green/black and brown/black run across the car (switch is on pass side of radiator) and one goes to ground and the other is cut/taped (looked like it was soldered at one point). What do I do?Comment

this may sound stupid, but i went to autozone when i wanted to wire up my electric fan and ended up stumbling upon a "fan switch kit" came with a switch + wires + fuse, and directions to wire it up.. i didn't like the switch they gave me so i purchased a $ 3 switch that's black and simple.. but the whole kit was less then 6 bux.. well worth it if u ask me.

Thanks but I think I got the temp switch all wired up. Just have to find a short in the fuse box since sometimes the a/c button will turn the fan on and sometimes it won't. The ETM was a HUGE help by the way.Comment

Can anyone tell me what wires go to the fan? I am wiring an after market fan where the old aux fan used to be. There is a black wire, a red wire, then two little connectors with red wires to them (all part of the aux fan wiring).
