    Swapping NV M50 to Vanos M50

    Not exactly E30 related...

    Say I have a E34 with a non vanos M50 in it and I want to swap a newer Vanos M50 in to it, what's needed? I know it will obviously bolt in but what kind of wiring needs to be done or changed?

      You'll need the ECU and harness from the newer motor. Intake manifold/injectors/exhaust/etc should be the same.

          It should plug in to the car and work with the correct ECU and engine harness, yes? Or is custom wiring needed?

              Should plug right in, if the NV plugged right in.
