Maybe this is common knowledge and I'm just an idiot but what do most people do when installing a 3.5 inch HFM. Is there aftermarket intake boot options or do I just need generic adapter couplers?
Just get a reducer elbow with the correct measurements and make your own, 20 bux and wallah.. that's what a few other guys on this board and myself have done.
That Samco boot from bimmerworld is kind of pricey.

Matt, you can also heat up the stock elbow and stretch the 3.5 MAF over it. It takes just a few minutes with a lightbulb and a skinny flat-head screwdriver.

I tried doing that... over an hour of frustration later I ended up puncuring the boot with the screw driver. pain in the ass!

What about the other side, if you want to retain the stock airbox from your E36 engine instead of installing a cone?
