Instead of selling yours, you can come down for a weekend and help build mine! then you can keep your e30 and have the satisfaction of a part of another sweet build ;)

i just gotta find me a motor...

I love hand tools - use them whenever I can, and hate air tools. Half the fun of working on these cars is turning wrenches, not pulling a trigger. If I wanted to do that, I'd be a hunter. Shit, I have my 2.7i stroker done and running and I'm contemplating ripping it out and doing a 24v just because I love working on my car.

My MINI frustrates me sometimes because there's nothing to be done on it - with my e30 there's always something I can do to it, and it keeps the hobby alive.

PS - I almost always wear sandals when working on my car - yes, even when swapping engines. If you're not smart enough to get your toes out of the way in time, you deserve to lose them :)

PS - Good luck! Let us know how the swap turns out!

I put my motor in by my self. Im just saying its kinda pointless for me to buy a tool even if its $30 to only use it once. I dont have a problem spending $2k+ on a compressor or a tig machine Cause i know ill use it.

And im not hard up for cash. Have you seen my car?

    .. sry dan
no worries , rant all you want in my thread, after all the help you gave me haha

We just upgraded the air compressor in my garage to a 80 gallon 6.5 hp 175psi unit. Its not necessarily cheap. And we still have no load leveler. Ive personally put in / helped up in two motors with no leveler and it was absolutely no issue either time.

Stupid people get spoiled with tools they dont need cause others say its the 'right' way to do it. Im pretty sure my m50 is in my car and nothing is broken or fucked up from me not using a pos $30 load leveler.

Another thing. idk how comfortable i am with my motor chillin on a sub $20 anything (in your case).

Thanks. See you think were all cheap but now we all think you an ass hole. ;)

Hahaha awesome!! So for me $30 to use it once isnt worth it. Maybe $15 but like you said....

LOL. A $15 load leveler is useless. I have one. It bent at the shackle when I was dropping in my engine/trans combo. So, I upgraded to a $30 load leveler. Much better.

Nope. If it was that simple. you would see soooo many people doing it. thats why we go with the full engine.

    First off: Caps FTL...

Second: No, otherwise there would be a ton of dohc M20s puttering around.
