Euro MAF/24# Injectors: no go with O2 sensor issue?

As I've posted in the past, I've had some odd O2 sensor issue with my S50 swap, namely the car doesn't think it's there. Anyway, I'll be attempting to figure out some more stuff with the sensor this week but I just got some goodies in the mail (injectors, MAF) and I'd like to start reaping the benefits of them but I'm worried the car won't be able to accommodate the new toys without the O2 sensor? I'll be using a chip setup for the new mods but I still think the ECU would have to do some adaptation...?

    Thanks!

Dude, I've tried. It's a mystery to me still... This week I should have some time to get busy with the multimeter though, because the über-amazing scantool tells me nada. I'd love to get it fixed soon but I'm wondering if it will fail miserably if I upgrade before I get a chance to sort it all out.

Are you using the M20 O2 sensor or the E36 O2 sensor?

The car will run using the M20 O2 sensor but the ECU won't like it. I didn't realize my issue until I when to go get smogged. I installed the E36 O2 sensor and car runs soooo much better.

I think it's the same part in later years though... Regardless yes, I am running the S50 O2 sensor but my car still throws a code.

            Big +1 on that.

Yes, adaptation is very important, no matter what your motor setup is like.

Alright, I had planned to try and get everything straight before modding but you know how it is when new parts arrive in the mail...

                oh yea!!
but you should resist temptation and fix issue first.
did you measure o2 sensor's voltage at the DME plug (hook it up to multimeter and go for drive, signal should be within 0-1v range)?
do that if you haven't, the wires may be mangled somewhere.

For what it's worth, i use Ford o2 sensor (apparently same bosch unit with diff harness/plug) spliced to fit m50 harness and recently passed emissions with flying colors
