Some questions on an S52 swap

    Hello,

I've done some searching and found some answers but I need some reconfirming....

    Will e21 tranny mount works? Bav auto Part # : 23 71 1 175 424

Do I need this fuel pressure regulator? Bav auto Part # : AFPRM-R NEW

What do I do about the exhuast? Does it have to be full custom?

Will the red label 413 ECU work?

Please excuse my lack of knowledge as I am just learning. Someone else is doing the swap for me but I will be getting my hands dirty with them.

    TIA,
    Fernando

Tranny mounts... #1 depends on the tranny you go with #2 depends on the tranny brace being used

You dont NEED a new fuel pressure regulator.

Exhaust does not have to be custom. Ebay headers or stock s52 exhaust manifolds (with a couple mods) to obd1 or obd2 midpipes and an e36 catback will fit with a little massaging.

Burgundy/Red label 413 with the right chip (m3) will work just fine.

Everything is here, both in the full 24v subforum, as well as in the sticky above.

Its pretty hard to weed out the info that I need. I know its there, but sometimes its like reading a different language. Hopefully I'll catch on...

If you really want to know whats going on, sit down with all that stuff in the link, plus find yourself an e30 and e36 Bentley. You can learn a lot from those resources.

A lot of OT on this site now days too...

You will want to use your tranny bracket (e30) on the ZF with one e30 mount, and one green e21 mount. Should be perfect. You can use e30 mounts, or e36 mounts as well, I havent gone that route, but from what I hear, it may require a little stretching. The first combo is plug and play.

IF you are set on an FPR, get a high end adjustable one. Check out Jegs.com etc. BMP used to have a nice quality unit, but they now use a crappy one made over seas. Still better than a lot of them out there, but not the best.

Thanks, I will order the green e21 mount from bavauto. I have a set of aftermarket e36 mounts, maybe I'll try them but I'll have the e21 mount just in case.

Do you think the fpr from bavauto is worth it or should I check out jegs?

Bav Auto is typically overpriced junk and a lot of it is from China. I made that mistake a long time ago. They like your money more than they do quality & performance.
