    Head removal

I'm pulling the head on my S50 and I'm just looking for a confirmation on the tool needed. The two small torx bolts on the front side of the head, these require a Torx E8 socket? Is there a special one someone sells? Note, the head bolts are already off.

No special thin-walled one needed. If you have a set of torx sockets, one of those should fit.

Look out for a small bracket on the rear passenger corner of the head. It holds the wiring to the o2 sensor (at least on an s52) and is attached to the head and the block. The block-side attachment is a little clip.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to go pick up the socket tomorrow. :)

haha, I forgot about that bracket when I replaced the headgasket on a customer's s52. I had to stand there holding the head above the block, while somebody else removed the bracket.
