Identifying Non Vanos vs Vanos cylinder head?

I know its probably in this section, I searched but came up with nothing. Is there any sure way to identify the cylinder heads with a visual cue or casting number? Just wanted to know when I hit up the junk yard.

    TIA

if your looking at complete motors in the junkyard you will notice the large bump on the front of the motor, where as the non vanos motors are flat on front.

Or if it is a bare head, check the diameter of the valve guides/stems. The NV will have 7mm stems/guides and the V will have 6mm stems/guides.
