E30 S52 Mark D chip

hello everyone,

i just purchased .Tom.'s S52 E30. Everything is going great so far, but it currently has an autothority chip made for the S50, so at high RPM's the check engine light turns on because it is sucking too much air. I contacted Mark D'Sylva to see if he had a chip for the S52, OBD I, non-EWS, etc. cars, and he said he would try to have one ready in the next 5 weeks. Also, the chips will be designed for an increase in performance, not just to maintain the stock S52 tunage.

Basically I am posting to gauge interest in this chip for him. He said he would email me when they were ready, and I figured that some people here might be interested in one as well.

I will forward him the link to this thread so he can keep an eye on stuff if people have comments or questions or suggestions.

Congrats on the pickup!

The Racer's Market has an off-the-shelf application for what you're looking for. OBD-I 3.2L, EWS delete, etc. They even have a tune for 3.5" HFM and 24 or 21.5 lb/hr injectors.

I already have that chip, ready to go. Tuned in person on a dyno with 2 different OBDI S52s, and currently running atleast 3 members cars on here as well. I can do 21.5 or 24lb injectors, 3" or 3.5" MAF, stock S52 cams or Schricks...

schrick intake manifold and big bore throttle body?

Both are wastes of money IMO. Money that would be better spent on a custom tune, which you would need to take advantage of the Schrick intake manifold anyway. I would guess the OBDI intake manifold would make more power though.

BBTB can be used with any tune... no need for any difference in the tune. Won't make any power either, and it hurts throttle control.

I love my ob1 m52 TRM tune... light years better then the Active Auto werks chip i had.

cool guys, thanks for the feedback. I am not driving the car more than a couple miles a week right now but may get back to you when the time comes to buy the chip.

PS. I don't have anything bad to say about Mark D or his chips... I'm sure his tune for that setup will be great. But I do have them now, and I know Mark is busy with other projects and may not get to it for a while.
