Quick question - m20 starter with m50 block

Can it be used? And if it can, only with e30 tranny or works with e36 as well?

From what I read after a search it depends on the flywheel, so both bolt to the m50 the same?

"yes m20 fly = m20 starter and parts. if you use a e36 fly you must use e36 starter etc etc."

    Thanks!

I have an S50 using the Getrag 260. I used the M20 flywheel and M20 starter.

From what I understand the flywheel determines the starter.

The only question remaining is can you use the M20 flywheel with the E36 transmission? I'm not sure if you can.

word. i used an e36 starter and flywheel with getrag260 e30 tranny. the only parts that need to match are the starter/flywheel/clutch.

Thanks. I don't know what flywheel I'll use yet, I know I need a tranny so I think I'll go with e36 route.
