    Picking it up tomorrow

Finally, bought an e36 95 m50 with 86k miles. Needs alternator, starter, oil pan and ecu. Found the alternator, starter already and going to try and make a deal with the seller to swap the oil pan from another m50 for extra $

ECU will come last, as I first want to get all the gaskets and hoses replaced and just clean everything up.

Wish me luck, I bid on it but haven't seen it yet. Good thing it's local though.

F%$!, no maf and ps pump either... and it's from an automatic grrr. Paid the deposit on it today, and going back to pick it up tomorrow with a truck. It's got a 6 month warranty though, so once I do a tear down for clean up if there are any problems they can replace it.

Forgot to ask, other than the wiring harness there is no other difference between the auto vs. 5spd m50 correct? Maybe i'll ask them to include a flywheel since they did ask if it matters to me if it's an auto or 5spd.

I am thinking one from an auto might be "healthier" but one from a 5spd car might be "easier" to prep/install or the same?

I just don't want to regret something once I pick it up I guess.

The engines should be identical in terms of preparation. In terms of engine health, I'd say it's a crapshoot. An auto owner might be someone who changes oil every 15K. A manual owner might be a teenager. Or, the engine might be well maintained!

True. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't have unforseen issues by going with one from an auto.

wiring harness is basically the same once you pull out all the auto-tranny crap, which is about 5lbs worth.

They are pulling one from a 95 5spd for me today. You guys think 3 guys is enough to lift the engine w/o tranny up and put it on the engine stand??

Took 3 people to load my old m20 with tranny on a pallet into the back of a truck, you should be able to do it.

Or worse yet the owner could have been ...Azn . Gasp .

You mean oil isn't good for the life of the engine? lawl.

Thanks man! I didn't think they would accept my offer but they did, so yeah.

Should I get an e34 or e36 bentley as the e30 bentley obviously doesnt' have any info on m50?

Alright, i'll pick one up, this time not from a dealer. I paid full msrp on my e30 bentley and saw them for like $20 less online lol.
