Wat the best transmission to use on m50 mounted on a e30 i also be changing from auto to 5spd

260 is a great option. It's an e30 unit as well.

You can use the getrag or zf from the e36 or you can reuse a getrag 260 from an e30. You could also use a getrag 240 from a late 318i, must be an m42'd car though, not a fan of that option, I have it in my car. I'd go getrag 260 from an e30 325i, cheaper to find and came out of an e30 I guess is why I'd do it. Lots of better reasons out there, but thats why I'd use that one.
