    Ildle or maf problems.

    I have a 92 m50nv.

The car idles like it has a big cam with the maf installed.

Without the maf installed it idles smooth as can be and drives perfect.

with the maf installed it idles like crap and runs like crap all the way to 3k.

could it be the TPS off position? Or A bad maf? Or a intake leak or vacume leak? (i really doubt intake leak).

    Anyone has any suggestions?

probably got the wrong maf for your engine, double check the part number on the maf with the vin on your engine on realoem. Maybe just leave the maf off...

I know I don't have the wrong maf. I know its not bad gas, I've been running like this for quite awhile. It might be a bad maf but someone has a 92nv in there e30 and they said their car won't even run right without it.\

I wish there was someone near by i could check with a good maf.

Sounds like your MAF is rooted.
Then when you unplug it, the ECU switches to one of its backup maps. That'd explain the smooth running. AFAIK, There are typically a few open-loop strategies saved in an ECU to deal with sensors failing, such as MAFs, lambda sensors, TPS, etc.
Try a new MAF though, don't just run without it!
