    Getting ready

Alrighty, I read the 69 page comprehensive thread for a 24v swap a couple of weeks ago and want to thank everyone that contributed to that. Fantastic work!

I just sourced an m50 today that will be coming out of a '92 325i that will come with all the attached accessories. Since I found out about that, I went ahead and skimmed the 24v thread again for review, and I think I have a pretty good list of what I am going to need.

    m50 w/ accessories
    402 DME
    harness
    e28 engine mounts (535i)
    e36 throttle cable
    e36 mount arms
e34 oil pan, pickup, oil pan gasket, dipstick, and dipstick tube
e34 oil pump/sump assembly (may be overlapping with above oil parts?)
Treehouse Racing m50 conv. brake booster
Treehouse Racing m50 conv. wiring harness adapter (still debating this)
    lower temp. thermostat
    electric puller fan (SPAL)

That's all I can think of right now. Even though this swap wouldn't happen for another month or so, I want to go ahead and start with getting things priced and ordered. I will most likely be picking the engine up next weekend (Aug. 16th). Afterwards, my girlfriend's dad (who might as well be a BMW mechanic) and I will begin to see just how good of condition the m50 is in and do some preventative maintenance.

The swap will be going into my '89 325i, and I will be keeping my stock 5-speed. If anyone can think of anything else, any suggestions, advice, etc. I'm all ears.
