    ground or power?

I have three connections from my harness and I am unsure if they are ground or power. Being partially colorblind does not help. I used a MM to check and I am 99.9% sure of two of them but want to be 100% sure on all.

    Here are some pictures.

power? I get continuity to the main relay connector

ground? I get continuity to the engine block

ground? I do not get continuity to the block but is this a bundle for ecu grounds?

bmw uses all brown wires for grounds.
          red is for power.
The second wire you show I connected to my VC where the ground strap goes from the VC to the coil bolt.
it wasnt long enough to really ground any other place.

Can both grounds be connected together? I have two brown wires coming out of the diagnostic port loom. One is brown with an orange line and the other is solid brown. Probably a dumb question but Im getting frustrated. My car has an s50 swap and it won't crank. I turn the key and the cruse control units turns on and so does the rectangular black relay on my e30 fuse box, but no crank from engine. Long shot but hopefully some sees this..

one is a ground that goes on the strut (nearest branch from plug), and the other goes to the battery distribution block (the one that branches off furthest from the plug).
