Went and did the first dyno run with the car last week. Mustang Dyno, btw, and the print out sucks, its not very dark. I was a little nervous about it, since the only working gauge in the car is the tacometer.
Did three pulls for baseline numbers.
3rd gear from 2000 rpms to 6000 rpms. 6000rpms was the last run. the first two were 5000rpms.
Max HP was 156 @ 6000rpms, but was still climbing....
Max torque was 133 @ 6000rpms, but was also still climbing had I not been a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.
1st run, the tech said it looked really lean, but the other three runs it did okay. I decided to shut it down at 6000rpms because I'm still getting used to the idea you can run a car motor that high in the rev range (i came over from the jeep world).
anyway, after the third run, I checked the motor and found some oil on the pan and alt, which I believe came from the dipstick. I don't have anything hooked up to the dipstick where those two fittings are. The tech thought it was PS fluid, until he realized I didn't have power steering. I checked oil level and it was fine. I degreased and power washed the motor when i got home and there def aren't any leaks anywhere, so it had to be the dipstick.
I've got some other gauges I'm working on making a pod for. Oil pressure, Volt meter, Water temp. Those are going in next weekend when i have some time..... if i dont have to work.
How do these numbers look? This is my first experience with dynos. I'm planning on picking up a chip from Matt at TRM, just waitin till the end of the month for the funds.
Motor is Alum M52 converted to OBD1 with s50 cams. m3 clutch and flywheel with e36 5spd tranny. 2.93lsd which I'll be swapping out with a 3.73lsd when i do the 5 lug.
