    FPR 3 bar

    Hi,

Would there be any problems with running the 3 bar FPR from the e30, I'm running an OBD2 M52 so I kept the same fuel rail except I have found out that I need the under car part that the fpr connects into( I don't know what its called). I mean this would be until I get the other part.

    your thaughts?

Yes, that will be a problem. First, how are you going to mount it? Second, you really need a 3.5bar fuel pressure regulator. I would HIGHLY suggest getting an OBDI fuel rail with integrated FPR. You could make an OBDII one work also, if you really need to, but you'll need the FPR mounted next to the frame rail on OBDII e36s or some other sort of non-rail mounted FPR.

      All right thanks,

Exactly what I was looking for. The mounting really wouldnt be an issue for the 3 bar.

Thats what I was thinking of getting the OBD1 rail since I allready have the e36 FPR, just no way of mounting it. And it would be easier then the OBD2 setup.

Although there is one thing that makes me lean towards the OBD2 setup since I am running the OBD2 DME is that there is a solenoid that is controlled by the dme that is currently unplugged.I don't have it since its part of the frame rail part in which the fpr goes into. It won't be plugged if I get the OBD1 rail

SO 3 bar = bad all across the board for m52.

      Thanks again

How would the mounting the 3.0bar FPR not be an issue? Are you going to keep the M20 fuel rail?

I take it putting it in line is a bad idea?

Anyways , I'm on the search for an m50 rail right now.So the 3 bar is out of the picture.

Any differences between OBD1 and OBD2 FPR?

I have the OBD2 FPR and they look the same.

The difference is that the OBDII fuel rail doesn't have anywhere to mount the FPR, you need the 2/3 way valve assembly which is mounted next to the driver's side frame rail on e36s. What you REALLY need is the OBDI intake manifold and fuel rail assembly. Then you just hook up the stock e30 lines and you're good to go.

There is no way to put the e30 fuel pressure regulator in line, it has to be mounted to the fuel rail.

Hey, did you end up using the frame mounted assembly, or did you go with the OBDI intake manifold and fuel rail with the integrated FPR?

I used the frame mounted assembly.

But I will go with the obd1 fuel rail when I get an m50 manifold.
