Shop that can perform swap in midwest?

I have an m50 that i need in my car. Was at army sniper school most of the summer and just didnt have time to work on it. Im going to try to tackle as much of it as I can but i have a timeline. I was wondering if there was a place in the midwest somewhere thats willing to perform this swap. If so i may end up taking it there for whatever i cant get done myself.

    Any leads? Thanks

Yeah im just staring at a naked m50 with no hoses or anything... so im gonna need to research how to put the sensors on there coolant setup, belt, all that stuff. But thanks.

Its like a weekend job, you can buy a engine hoist from harbor freight for like 150 and a few buddies. Seriously you are not very bright if you pay a shop to drop a m50 in. its not worth it. if im paying a shop to do anything it better be a s38 or a s50b32

it took my 1.5 hours to pull the m20 and trans, and gut the engine bay. and i think it took around 20 mins to get the motor in and bolted down, maby 2 hours to hook up all the sensors and wires. Then figure 2 hours to bolt up the trans clutch and driveshaft. and then maby 2-3 hours of troubleshooting. drive to the exhaust shop the next day, have them weld some pipes from the headers to the m20 exhaust and your good to go.

I realize what yur saying... It took me about 6 hours to drop the exhaust pull all the m20 motor accessories, remove the driveshaft and swap out the rear diff for a different one, as well as some other little things.... I know just pulling and dropping things into place wouldnt take that long. The problem is my motor is not sitting there ready to go... it will take alot of prep time to take it from a naked long block to a drop in crate... That being said AKG no longer does swaps. So it looks like im going to prep the engine and finish it myself. I have all the major components just need to drop an order for bits and pieces and finish the engine and prep things in the meanwhile.

Its not a matter of know how or technical potential... its a matter of time. Im a sniper in the army, a student in college, i have a demanding girlfriend, am partners in a firearms & suppressor business, and i have 2 part-time jobs. Oh and im getting deployed in january. Time just isnt on my side right now. But thanks for the info.

understood, but if your forking out the money for the swap, it would have to be somthing bigger than a m50, you will be disappointed. save up some cash and have them put a euro s50 or a s38 in and be happy.

Ive had my m50 in and running for 2 weeks, and im allready wishing i would of saved up cash and gone s50/s52, or somthing bigger. a m50 is only 20 more HP than a m20 with a smoother torque/hp curve.

after your m50 swap you will have a car that is just as fast as a stock 1995 vw vr6, or a 99 civic SI, except the tail end kicks out in 1st and 2nd gear. nothing special

I had the budget for an s50/52 but at the time when i was ready to buy a motor nobody would give me a straight answer on thier motors. I was looking at shady motors and i didnt feel comfortable. The engine I bought had a new tranny relatively low miles, new sachs clutch, dr vanos kit, metal impeler water pump, and s50 cams... so i thought ehh might as well get it. With the Chip tune from Racers market it might be reasonably quick. But its not even the speed i want, I just wanted a low mileage motor my m20 had 240k and was burning oil.
