using complete e36 m3 exhuast? possible?

I am still not very happy with my exhuast. It is a little louder than I would like for a DD. It might be up for sale soon if anyone is interested.

    ebay headers
    2 2" into 1 2.5"
    vibrant resonator
    vibrant muffler (single 4" tip)

It has a nice low rumble, and is pretty loud when you open it up. There is some rasp at 2500-3000rpm. It does drone on the hwy at 75mph. If anyone is interested I will sell it all....headers back or parts.

So back to the post... I am thinking of going stock OBDII E36 M3 exhuast. I remember seeing some pictures on here of someone that did it and I have been searching and can't seem to find the pic. If anyone has a link to that please post...

What needs to be done to make it all fit? Can I hang it myself? I don't want to really go back and pay the exhuast shop again. I have a welder and am think I can do it myself. But no tubing bender if that is needed.

I have a line on a full OBDII exhuast from the headers to the tips. (btw, if anyone else has this PM me)

    TIA

    Its definitely possible.

I bought myself OBDII headers, OBDI cats and midpipe and stock OBDII catback exhaust.

I plan to run that for the time being...i may get a nicer catback but I want to keep the OEM shit up front.

I think all you need is to bend the exhaust at the front so it clears the sway bar. If someone else can chime in to clarify it would help :)

Yes, it's possible. I ran stock exhaust on my M50 swap from a few years back.

The muffler needs to be re-worked a bit to get the tips in the correct location, but it should be easy to do for a competant exhaust shop.

You also may have some issues with the mid-pipe hitting the subframe.

Yes, it is possible. I have an S50 with 95 E35 cats and 95 M3 Remus catback exhaust.

I brought my car to a local exhaust shop and told them what I wanted and they made it fit. They had to fab the downpipes and connect them (merger them) into the cat the same way that BMW did it.

They created a couple of custom mounting brackets to make it all work. The bottom-line is that it ended up fitting really well and it works.

You can take a look at and listen to mine - I'm running stock E36 exhaust all the way back to an aftermarket muffler (bosal - lighter/a bit smaller and better sounding).
