318i basically the same as 325i?

I was wondering if a 318 has the same body measurements and engine bay as a 325i? would body parts from a 325i fit on a 318? Thanks

Now if I swapped a M20 into a 318 would it be hard to change out the wiring harness? What else would I need to swap out Ecu or any other electronics?

plug and play, you'll have to get tranny, driveshaft, engine and just slap it in.
