    Drive away protection circuit question

    Hey Guys,
As I continue my quest to get the M50 running in my 88 325is, I'm tracing and back probing every wire in the ECU harness and have a question on the drive away protection circuit on pin 81. It looks, per ETM, that the ECU provides the on board computer with ground via the X20 pin 7 (Black/Violet). Does anyone know if the OBC handles the drive away protection by powering this? Has anyone done anything with this circuit?

Thanks in advance for any insight you folks can give. BTW, the patient is an 88 325is with a 91 M50 NV and red 403 ECU. All grounds are good, crank and cam sensors match resistance values on my 525iT and ECUs have been swapped in and back out.

i dunno if it is the same for all cars with the OBC but in the '86 325es you have to wire the OBC cut out into the engine wiring harness. There is a plug sticking out of the firewall in the area that would be behind the OBC... this is the business end of the relay that you would need to wire into the e36 main relay wiring to get the CODE function to work. If you didnt wire it in then this isnt your problem.
