    Engine Adaptor Question:

Recently, I purchased an order from The Euro Depot. A month ago, The Euro Depot stated they couldn't build my Engine Harness adaptor b/c I have an "E" car. Today, I called AKG Motorsport, and he informed me that his adaptor would work fine. From the broken information I recieved, as long as I don't have a square plug, but have a round plug all wiring is the same regardless of "E" or "I" configurations.

My question is: For the "e" car swappers what did you do to tackle this problem? And to any other individual who has knowledge (and from reading tons of posts I know your out there) would be greatly appriciated.

    Thanks,

Then you won't get a quality product from someone who knows what they're doing.

AkG sometimes will convert your wiring harness if you send it to them. Then you dont even have an additional plug. Youd have to call or email them first though. They converted my harness for me. It looks like good work.

Time to learn how to read wiring diagrams, and, splice/solder, and hack up junkyard parts for practice. You'll save $325.00.

I sold my old motor and harness. Do I need to get another "E" Harness then?

How much do you want to spend?

I can build one for you using new parts. If you're interested, send me a PM.

Something tells me that if he follows this advice, it wont end well.

Spend the $400 OP, you'll be glad you did. If you dont have time or arent handy with solder & diagrams, that is your best option.

Blah, blah, well crimp instead of solder because of vibration, use heat shrink to prevent dirt contamination.

All round C101 connectors are not wired alike. Pin 20, for instance, provides a ground path for the coolant temp sensor on earlier cars and powers the ABS system on later cars. If you wire it wrong, you burn your adapter. Ask me how I know that...

If you don't want to spend the money on an aftermarket adapter, learn to read the ETMs. It is really a great learning experience too. Work on a pin by pin basis and verify function on both sides of the connector. It will take a long time and can be frustrating, but you will definitely know your system when done. Be careful with cross references provided by others. They may work great for them, but should only be a starting point for you.
