    S50 cams in M50

I searched and didn't find anything. How much power should I expect by putting S50 cams (and a software for this application) in a M50 ?

Depends on how well you time them, and a thousand other factors. 180-210whp.

      What Matt said.

As an example, a friends '93 325i with a 210,000 mile bottomend and M3 head, AA "M3 cam/325i" chip, Conforti intake, AA cat-back made 190whp/153wtq on a local dynojet.

can you mention some of the factors?

i have s50 cams in an m50 but i have yet to start the car.

i used a proper cam tool but not sure if that has any effect on timing vanos.

Using the proper cam tools correctly is key. Frankly, it's hard.

Also intake and exhaust setup, chip, fuel, running temp, the overall condition of the motor, the weather on the day you dyno, and the dyno itself.

            I see..

I'm hoping to have some good numbers:

            M50 w/

            M52 crank
            M52 rods
            M52 pistons (84.5mm)

            S50 cams

Its pretty much rebuilt from the ground up too :)

I will most likely tune it with the help of a friend that has plenty of experience.

                    Everything.

Sorry if that's too flip... there is really nothing that a standalone can do that the stock ECU can't, as long as you can work within the parameters of a mass-flow based system.

The issue is that not many people have the ability to get into the code to really figure out how to make the ECU do what it needs to do.

same question, but for s52 cam and is there a difference b/n and s50 and s52 cam and will s52 work in an m50?

S52 cams will work in an M50, but you'll need to swap lifters and lifter trays also.

There is a small difference between S50 and S52 cams.

What about with non vanos m50s? Any problems there?

The problem is that they don't fit.

i think you swap the exhaust cam with the intake cam and get a shrick intake cam...

forgot exactly how it works with the NV motors.
