318 vs 325 for an s50 swap

hey guys, im wondering if theres any physical differences that would differ me from choosing one over the other.

right now im looking at a 91 318i 4door for 1700.. going to try and get it for 1300/1400 or less depending on the physical inspection...

325 would be much easier... largely suspension wise due to the increased weight difference between m40 and s50 versus m20 and s50. Having said that, I'm in the process of getting stuff together for an m50 swap into a 318, but I already had the car before I started thinking of the swap.

well... i suppose that would be true if you were to keep the stock springs.

IMO, the best radiator for a swap is the late 4 banger.

The late 4 banger transmission fits better too, but is not all that tough, so if big powa/hard driving is the plan, a different tranny might be in order.

All in all I would say if you are building, it really makes little difference as far as swapping goes what car you start with.

IMO, the arches/taillights/bumper differences matter more than what powertrain the car came with.
