Yeah, they look like the ones I got which look like the ones you got. Mine are a pretty big pita though because the O2 sensor bungs are in shittarded places. One will hit the other header and the other will jam into the firewall. I'm going to have to get a bung added elsewhere. It shouldn't be a big deal going a couple feet farther back though. Stock position for the bung on E34 and E36 is at the y-pipe just before the cat.

Those are my headers. See the resemblance?

Those look like the same type that I bought, just through a different distribuitor.

I had some massaging on the header and the engine mounting arm to get everything to clear. So far so good, can't beat the price.

AFAIK you mean? AKIAK? I dont understand.

But yes, I was thinking that you want the readings from all the cylinders, not just 1.

AKAIK you want the sensor to be where the 2 pipes meet so you can get a reading from from all 6 cylinders w/ OBDI.

hmmm, never thought of it like that. maybe I will have to pull it up to either bank 1 or bank 2.

Won't that bung be too far from the engine to get an accurate reading?

Yah, but I'm OBD1, so I only need 1 bung... And I would like to have it where the 2 pipes meet. Or atleast thats the set up I'm running on my car right now.

you can see the bungs where the three pipes meet in each header.

No I understand where it will break at the weakest point, but it broke at the welds under my heat wrap. It could be from my bracket, but I don't think it is because where my headers meet they have a slip on flange that makes the pipe 1 3" pipe. I took a look at my headers and I noticed that it wasn't the headers that were hanging low, but the slip on flanged that was hanging low. So When I pushed the flange up it would go up and stay up. The flange just had too much play so I made a bracket to hook onto that flange that would pull it up. Either way, it looks like I am getting a new header/exhaust set up and running some flex pipes so I can actually have a bit more play. Sound like a good idea?

It doesn't matter where the break happens, they will break at there weakest point, which it seems is up higher in your case.

He may have a point. Stress one end, and the other end could still crack, it all depends where it puts load. Headers are not meant to flex at all. Maybe you could take a few pics of your setup?

I didn't get my exhaust done yet, I still have open ebay headers, and they look dangerously low. I'm not sure how it's going to turn out...
