    harness adapter

Has anyone had any experience with the AKG harness adapter? I bought one and my question is do I still need to wire the speed signal to the tach from the dme connector to the back of the tach? Also do I need to still wire up the compressor signal from the a/c? I ask because on the project orca cd it says to wire those signals to the back of the tach from the motronics connector? But is this incorporated in the harness adapter. Any help would be appreciated.

depends on car. older cars you will need to wire tach, newer cars have tach built into harness adapter. cheers, jason

I have a 1989 325i, so would I have to wire that stuff. I think it might be wired already into my harness.

yes, the 89's run the tach signal throught the c101/x20.....so the adapter does cover this. re: a/c..... its independant of the x20/c101. just wire up the new connector to the new style compressor. cheers, jason

thanks that saves a little time. The wiring part definitely takes the longest.

for a/c, do you use the e36 compressor or the e30?

            I assume e36....

From what I understand, use the E36 compressor, but you must have the low pressure suction line modified to fit the E36 compressor. You may also have to modify the high pressure line, but of that I am not certain. I think I remember Jordan saying the high pressure line from an E36 318 works? Might find that in a search here, or that might info might be on E30tech.com

Yeah, I have heard that the lines have to be custom fabricated/modified.
