low oil pressure/lifter noise at startup

I have had my m50 swap going for a few months and I have noticed recently that after sitting all night when I start it the oil light take about 3-4seconds to turn off and the lifters are very noisy. After this is quiets right down. Once and a while it will rev to just below 2k and then settle to a nice idle.

It runs fine...no issues other than that.

Stock m50 with a TMS chip.

well I know it has pressure....it just takes more than it should to build up. Also there is lifter noise for those few seconds. Should i worry about it....

A dummy light is fine....it tells me there is a certain psi. A oil pressure gauge can have an issue as well...

Mine tends to do the same. What weight oil are you using and whats the outside temps like? This could also be due to a bad check valve in the cylinder head (non return/drain valve)

Both of my DOHC's rattle just a bit when i first start them jake. Ones got 100k and the other has 130k.
It worried me too, but i think its just par for for the coarse.

thats kind of what im thinking too. Of coarse its not a diesel rattle or anything like that.... But i figure if one goes out it might ruin the cams inadvertantly....and i might just have to buy new ones.... :P
