I think its obd1. I could be wrong though. So yea, you have a s50b32, you will need either a boosterless brake system or a dual mc brake system. Either way you can't retain anything bmw as our boosters will be way in the way of that plenum. You might wanna look at the threads over here because I believe someone is using a geo metro booster or something of that stature.

I'll trade you my motor with obd1 conversion and the brake setup for yours . =)

A geo metro was a little chevy car. Geo was the brand and the model was the metro. Just a little tiny thing, but has a tiny booster. Check the links that were posted in the other thread you were asking about what booster to run though. I thought the s50b32 was obd2 but not positive on that.
Edit: just checked and seems that it came in the 1999 and such e36's so should be obd2.

Like I told you in another thread, it is not OBDII. OBDII late in the 90s was a US only thing.

Really, trust me on this one. I have an S50 B32 and more specifically I have a South African spec S50 B32.

OBD(-II) is short for On Board Diagnostics, which is a US EPA standard for accessing stored information on engine operation and related subsystems, with the goal of being able to access this information across all car makes and models through a universal connector.

The "World" engines do not have OBD as implemented in the US, as Bruce has mentioned.

To be accurate, the S50B30 (Euro and elsewhere) uses a Bosch M3.3 DME. The S50B32 uses a Siemens MSS50 DME. The different DMEs will determine what pins need to go where when grafting the E36 harness to the E30, either directly or through an adapter.
