    E30.... S50 or turbo M50

just wanted to see some opions and experiences going both routes. Both have their benefits and disadvantages. I already have a M50 conversion done in my E30 but feel deep down that i should of went a different route as I'm already thursting for more; delema is which way. I do not have any intentions of selling the car so I might as well do it right, even if it takes a bit longer. Not going out racing anymore so it would just be for pure enjoyment of the car.

Do I leave the car the way it is

    just drop in a S50

turbo the M50 currently in the car.

    Any opinions and comments welcomed.

    thanks

Might as well just go for a turbo. Is this a NV motor or does it have vanos?

turbo the m50 for sure. best bang for the buck, and would be a better platform for boost than the s50.

wanna buy a gt35r? i might be selling mine soon.

I kind of ran into this debate with my eta. Except it was turbo M20 vs. S52. I went with the S52 because I daily drive the car and do 100 highway miles a day. The S52 is much better for gas mileage than a turbo 12v.

I figured for a strict track car that could drive to and from the track I'd go for the turbo though. I just wanted efficiency with my street driven car.

And really, the S52 is a lot of power. Turbo would be silly fast, but the S52 definitely isnt a slouch.

What a dumb question. Turbo of course. Put some S50 cams in their as well.

If for some reason, though, you had to stay N/A, then go with the S52...you'd be a lot happier.

If you stay NA at least go s52, you already have all the parts for OBD1 conversion. You will be disappointed with s50 imo.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.
