You have a lot of suggestions in this thread OP, I think a lot of them won't get the parts completely clean. Quickest, easiest way to really get them spotless is to use an etching wheel cleaner + brush. Eagle One Etching Mag Wheel cleaner is what I use, and is available locally.

If anyone is reading this in the future, Toyota wheel cleaner works amazing for getting cast aluminum looking like new.
