97 328i. Won't start sometimes. I mean like once every 3 weeks it won't start and I leave it for anywhere between an hour and a day, starts when I try again. When it doesn't start, it is getting fuel and spark. It is not throwing a fault code.

How long did you crank it for?
I believe there was a software update from BMW for this very issue on the E36, can't remember which motor though.
Its possibly you have a leaky fuel injector, but usually that will just cause a misfire after startup. Its also possible that your coolant temp sensor is acting up.'91 318is

last night i drove to hockey, then went out for a bit. hopped in my car, started fine. sat for a bit to let it warm up, then drove 10 blocks to go get pizza. 15 min later i get back in and no start. clear flood mode, starts after not even a second. drive 2 miles home and park
just now, 10 hours later, hop in to go to physical therapy. No start. clear flood, still no start. crank for like 15 seconds, no start. dis/reconnect neg battery, still no start. wait a few min, still no start.Originally posted by bluntComment
