S52 intake cam shield?

I noticed when I pulled the valve cover there isn't a cover over the intake cam. The BMW illustration shows there being one from the factory. Any worries about it not being on there?

I know from my VW days not installing the splash guard over the cam made it throw oil everywhere and get excessive oil in the PCV system. Definitely try to track one down before you button it up, and now worry forever because whoever had that motor before you was retarded, hopefully they didn't do much to it other than valve cover gasket or whatever they tampered with when they removed the cam cover

Come to think about it, would putting a extra splash guard on the exhaust cam help anything?
