Stop talking about how the motor came out of a "drift car", and do the swap. But I know you wouldn't, because if you could, you wouldn't have to ask if you could. So do it, or don't.

If you pull it off, you will have regained my respect. Really.

    +1 Less talking, more swapping...:hitler:

My mistake. I thought the RB's and the jz's were similar besides for the displacment.

Define "a lot". A JZ motor is not like Nissan's RB (nor the M20/M50). 1JZs and 2JZs are all aluminum and weigh less than the competition.

Yes the turbo stuff will add a few pounds, but it's still at a fraction of what an M motor costs. I am willing to bet you can swap a 2JZ, have still great weight distribution, for much less than an S50 swap.

    check this out:

i know its a 1jz .. but they also offer a 2jz but isnt advertised if i remember correctly

i was talking to the guy for over 2 months .. he sounds pretty legit ... comes with motor mounts, tranny mount and custom drive shaft shipped for 1200 bucks

for over 4g's he can send u a motor setup shipped .. the motor rebuilt, wiring harness modified to be plug in, oil pan modified, mounts, drive shaft, ... only thing to modifiy is the brake booster to be a drop in setup .. exhaust is your problem

obviously u would have to get it through us customs .. but should be easy since the 2jz was offered in the supra .. so u would just need to show proof that toyota offered the engine in the USA and it does pass emission stardards

he is located in Britain ... but he gets all the work done in Thailand

    ---------------

i was thinking about doing it

but declined because it was way too much money and didnt like that i had to send money to off shore stuff .. LOL

Don't think it would be good at drag racing. All the weight is in the front, traction is in the rear, so aint gonna be too good.

i mean if you have the fabrication skills to mount the engine in there then you can cut and weld the firewall.
But being able to weld some thick metal that has no structure in the car is much different than thin metal that is part of the unibody of the car. I sure as hell wouldn't unless you got major plans on how your gonna put the strength back in from taking out and putting welds in place of a part of the car. Just food for thought, I'm definitely not a purist, but hate hackjobs.

It would GReatly throw off the weight distribution so i opted not to do it.
