    I need to buy/borrow a dme for m52 obdII 328i

Once again I have an m5x that noone can figure out the problem with. My m50 e34 was nuts, noone could figure it out, I swapped out the dme and it was fine. My 97 328i is freaking out, noone knows why, so I want to swap the dme

Anyone know what dme's are interchangeable? also, anyone have one I can borrow, or buy?

So you need an obd2 dme? I got a s52 siemens stock dme fs off a 97 m3. Don't know how it will run. Probably if you have 21.5 injectors + 3.5 inch hfm you'll be fine. Let me know.

It's not that simple... You will need to have the EWS aligned if you swap DMEs.

Define "freaking out" and I'll help you diagnose it and possibly send you a DME that will actually run your car without aligning EWS.

I have one from a 97 328i, but as matt mentioned EWS will be a problem.

it doesn't start, but only when it's below 30 degrees out. it's not getting spark. coil packs are fine. fuel pump, injector pulse, fuel pressure, etc all fine. normally it's throwing a code for o2 sensor, but none are running open loop. when it doesn't start it no longer throws the o2 sensor code and throws an evap code

Is the DME coolant temp correct? May be your CLT sensor.

            That is a weird issue...

ok its at a shop (blackforest motorsport for you buffalo folks). He is only able to duplicate the no-start sometimes (I think it's because it's so warm in his shop. It's always fine for me above 30, doesn't start below 30). Fuel pressure is fine, injector pulse is fine. Ecu is trying to ground the coil packs, but when the car doesn't start the coil packs aren't getting power. He replaced the relay in cabin by the kick panel. There is power from the ignition when the coil packs aren't getting power.
