    tranny mounts for e30m50 swap

    hey guys im almost done my m50 swap but i need some help on the tranny mounts. im using the getrag 250 and my tranny mounts dont line up. i cant remember how it looked before i took the original tranny off. help? do i need to go buy some getrag 260 mounts? im just completely confused right now and i really wanna ge this done asap. THANKS

    don't most swaps use e21 tranny mounts?

          NO the treehouse bracket is not needed for the 250 + m50. Only when your using m50 + 260= custom/treehouse bracket.

          I had trouble at first just take your time it will line up. If your issue is the "mounts" my rubber stock mounts that came with the 250 worked but I swapped them for the IE urethane mounts I had on the 260 and everything lines up in both cases. I bolted the mounts (rubber/urethane) to the trans installed on the (260) bracket, then lifted the trans into place and secured the trans bracket to the chassis.

          I used the 260 trans bracket on my 250. I suspect that is where your issue is. I have a extra 260 trans bracket if you need it.

            i used e21 320 tranny mounts on the stock e30 325i tranny support with my getrag 250. i had to hog out the mounting arms on the tranny a little since the studs on the 320 mounts are 12mm. everything lined up fine.
