only because it will give the best angle for a gravity feed... i agree, it's better to put the return higher on the pan, but there are only a few inches from the turbo to the top of the oil pan, and you have to run a line forward in the engine bay, unlike e36 guys. a bung on the top of an e34 pan will give you an almost horizonal line...
im not here to argue which is better, it was just an idea that would be cheap and would most likely perform well, given the line doesnt come off :D
of course it makes sense to get the return oil out of the turbo and into the pan as quickly as possible, but keep in mind the oil going into the turbo is under pressure. once the return line fills with oil as it eventually will in the photos, the pump pressure will force the return oil back to the pan anyway. i don't see a problem. an after market turbo timer might be a good idea to avoid coking after shutdown.sigpic

The oil going into the turbo is very low pressure and the return line should have NO pressure. If you have pressure in your return line, you will be blowing clouds of black smoke out your tailpipe.of course it makes sense to get the return oil out of the turbo and into the pan as quickly as possible, but keep in mind the oil going into the turbo is under pressure. once the return line fills with oil as it eventually will in the photos, the pump pressure will force the return oil back to the pan anyway. i don't see a problem. an after market turbo timer might be a good idea to avoid coking after shutdown.
That's exactly where I would put it. Keep in mind, the SPA manifold mounts the turbo slightly higher and closer to the block than the Turbonetics, so the angle will be better.Comment

Do you want to send me your car and let me do one to build the pipe jigs and base the kit off of? I don't own a DOHC e30 anymore. I have a few local people who have flapped their gums about having us do a kit, but nobody put their money where their mouth is.
I'll be happy to run this GB and give a decent discount if I can. The more the merrier, if you know what I mean. I'll give a price when we get a good idea for how many people are interested.Comment

The guy on ebay is selling them for the old price. Prices have gone up since then. Sorry.
If you get 5 people, I will see what I can do. This is cutting it pretty thin as it is.Comment
