man first gear and most of second gear is pretty much pointless with the 3.25 even with 235 rt-615 tires. how hard is it to get traction with the 3.46? And i know gearing doesn't "give you power" but does it speed up acceleration? what is the gears strong points?
Anyway, glad you found a bad ass drivetrain setup.
OBD1 s52+3.46 lsd+ZF 320 = OMFG!

You'll be cranking at least 4k at 70 if you use a zf with 3.73 gears. Those are way too aggressive for a DD. Jesse runs them on his m52, but there is way too much shifting involved. :crazy:Leave a comment:

Lol. Hot damn. Kudos to you! I wanna see/feel. We need to really do a side by side roll to show examples of a s52 with a 2.93lsd and a s52 with a 3.46lsd. =PFinally, after waiting over a year to grab a 3.46 lsd, I got one!!! After installing it about 2 hours ago, my life has officially changed for the better! The gearing is simply perfect!!!
I have been running the 3.25 for the past 2 years and have always liked the gearing, but I always wanted to shorten up 3rd and 4th. Well now I have the best of both worlds; fairly long legs, with a little extra oomph in each gear!
Easily one of the best mods I've done to my car! :woowoo:

The 3.46 is one of my favorites mods I have ever done to my car. If you have a zf tranny you have to get the 3.46.Leave a comment:
