man first gear and most of second gear is pretty much pointless with the 3.25 even with 235 rt-615 tires. how hard is it to get traction with the 3.46? And i know gearing doesn't "give you power" but does it speed up acceleration? what is the gears strong points?

Anyway, glad you found a bad ass drivetrain setup.

cant wait for the good...and the bad. GF lives 40 miles away on the highway. :-\

we'll see how bad it is.
You'll be cranking at least 4k at 70 if you use a zf with 3.73 gears. Those are way too aggressive for a DD. Jesse runs them on his m52, but there is way too much shifting involved.

Wanna buy my 3.25, I bet you you'll love the gears compared to 2.93! :D

I have been running the 3.25 for the past 2 years and have always liked the gearing, but I always wanted to shorten up 3rd and 4th. Well now I have the best of both worlds; fairly long legs, with a little extra oomph in each gear!

Easily one of the best mods I've done to my car! :woowoo:

The 3.46 is one of my favorites mods I have ever done to my car. If you have a zf tranny you have to get the 3.46.
