    How to turn off checkpanel

    Hey there,

How do you guys turn off the oil level sensor in the check panel? The oilpan E34 sensor is missing and i don't intend to buy one right now.. This is of cause an M50 engine i'm talking about in my '87 325i.

I've heard something about a resistor and to wires two ground, but i can't find that topic again (on a danish forum)..

All you guys out there must have done this a million times :)

why not just remove the bulb from the check panel?
    my son's name is Soren....

here is what you posted last year "After searching and reading a lot, it seems that pin nr. 2 needs ground and pin nr. 10 needs ground through a 1000 ohm resistor. Probably gonna try that out tomorrow."

Mine lights up like a Christmas tree every time I get in. I just tell the passenger I hope it'll get us where we are going with no oil, coolant, lights, and no washer fluid.

I'd just take out the bulbs if I were you, or unplug it.

i'd either fix the problem or just take the bulb out like everyone else has said. In a perfect world you could fix it and it work properly, but check control crap never works properly......

But if you just unplug the bulb, then the Check will still flash in the speedometer, right?
