my chassis is a 1988 325 and the engine is a m50 based. i am running the e30 starter, and have been this way for atleast 3 years, with no issues. the other day i went to start the car and the battery was dead. i hooked up the charger and realized my window switches were lit up with the ignition off. i have replaced the relay with a known good one, verified my connection to the starter and between relays. if i pull the relay while the key is off and reinstall it, the circuit powers down. as soon as i turn the key on again, the problem happens all over, until i remove the relay or disconnect the black/green wire from the starter. with the ignition off i get continuity between the black/green and chassis. is this supposed to drop ground? maybe my starter is bad? any help is greatly appreciated.

thats why im confused, the circuit is tested and good. i just dont know if the starter could be bad and causing this, i dont want to throw parts at it....Comment

Actually, could be the starter. Could be stuck sending the 12v to the relay.1985 325e 2.8 Turbo VEMSComment
