Wire Adapter Question

Couldn't the tach problem be solved with a simple resistor?

The Treehouse adapter will work fine. The speedometer, temperature gauge, and gas gauge will work. The tachometer will move, but it will read high, as full sweep is 1000 rpm higher on the M3 cluster in comparison to the regular E30 cluster. You can get a little circuit board to correct this error, but I'm not sure if the guy who developed it sells them any more.

Searched everywhere and could not find anything. I need to get the m50 wire harness I am getting to work with my e30 m3 cluster. I know that this is not a common swap as most do s50/s52 but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I saw the treehouse adapter but I am assuming this would not work for me. I am not a electrical educated person but I am willing to try a DIY assuming I have instructions etc.. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
