    So I have a spare m50nv-what to do w/it??

    Ok so I have a spare m50nv kicking around and I've BEEN wanting to gank out the m42 from the vert for a while.

    If I had my way I'd grab a s5X w/ trans for the swap BUT since I have this engine already I'm curious what kind of build up I can do.....

    Looking for some suggestions from you guys

              I am putting a m50 into my e30 m3 as we speak. I was going for a s5x as well, but the budget on my project has gone down recently. I plan on either finding a s5x motor later when my budget permits it or boosting/supercharging the M50 maybe by the end of this year. Put that thing in there.

                    drop it in now--boost it later. I just finshed mine and just from jack-assing around town it feels awsome! a 4:10 behind a M50tu feels great.

                      I feel as though, It cant go in w/out some sort of rebuild due to the milage being around 200k. My e30 allready has a m3 large case 4:10 LSD due to me blowing the small case 4:27 to pieces w/ the m42.


                      On a side note does anybody think I should boost it???

                      FWIW: It won't take much to twist my arm into giving this m50nv some FI. If I go that route I want to give the engine a mild rebuild/prep for the turbo. What should I do?? Also I dont want a hack job, So I need a clean turbo setup that wont kill my wallet. Somebody show me a clean & proven setup I can go with

                        slap the engine in there as is, of course change the necessary gaskets, and get all the wiring issues worked out. then when you get all your turbo parts collected, rebuild it and go from there.. youll thank yourself later

                              if the engine runs well, do a leakdown/compression test. if it passes well, maybe inspect a bearing or two but the bottom end should be fine stock. get ARP studs, MLS gasket, standalone management, and you'll be good to go
