    New Track Mod: Fibergalss Hood

Took a couple coats of fill and sand to make this hood look this good. Bought it super cheap, and spent about 6 hours total on it. Friend of mine hooked me up with the paint. The hood came with a fg sunroof panel as well. Bought it locally, no idea who made it, although I think it came from Moseley Motorsports. Fit and finish is actually really good. It weighs 7lbs. On the same scale the stock hood weighed 29lbs.

It literally embarrasses the rest of my car in terms of paint quality. the rest will be painted by the end of the calendar year. Should be an easy paintjob, the body panels are all nice and straight. He's good too, won't take long at all

Sorry for the shitty pic, took it with my 2mp cellphone.

Man I really want to get a lighter weight hood and trunklid for my track car. The hood is a great place to lose weight after adding the weight of the twin cam up front.

Looks like a really good fit too. Nice.

Yeah, but the stock hood is pretty light! When we yanked the M20 this weekend I was kind of amazed.

Good Lord! That thing's just going to get faster and faster.
Now you'll need to practice your mad polishing skillz on the rest of the body.;)

            OT.

No kidding. It does surprise me every time I remove one at work for whatever reason. One man can handle it no problem, even with the awkward size. If you think about it, the hood being as big as it is only weighs as much as an eta flywheel. I guess that's not saying much for it though..

found it locally for $150. Was a little damaged, but only took me about 4 hours to repair and prep for paint, basically two 2 hour stints after work one day.

Does it have hinges? Quite a bit of weight saving, right there.
