The Lemons car my team has an m20 with a '92 5 series trans and 4.10s. first is only useful below 10 mph, 2nd is barely taller than 1st in a normal e30. It keep it in the powerband all the time, but you'll run out of gear at ~100 mph. The m20 did embarrass an m50 e36 though. :)

My MTech1 has an m50 with a c/r e36 5 speed. I run a 40% 4.10 at the track and when hillclimbing the car. Fifth is good for 128 mph on the rev limiter! If it's at all wet, skip first gear, or you don't move. It just rotates.

in the rain--you will still need to clutch kick on occasion. I love the the way the "mistress" acts and reacts to throttle.

I've got mine behind the getrag 240 w/ my m50. Its not bad, short, and would appreciate having a longer 1st gear, but it does for now.

Ya, I usually cruise around 3500 which is 75mph.
