Worn plastic on baffle under valve cover

I just picked up a m50 motor from a 94 e34 525i and I’m cleaning up the Valve cover to paint and I noticed the baffle plate that leads to the PVCs plastic edges are worn, it looks like it’s been sanded down almost will this be okay to reuse? First post, can’t find anything about this issue. i know you can’t buy this item individually, hoping it’s fine. Thanks

That is actually a rubber seal. Time and heat has likely made yours very hard and plastic-like. I don't think it is available separately. I wouldn't worry about it too much though as that plate just keeps oil from spraying up into the vent area of the valve cover. A little leakage won't affect much.
