problems pulling M50 oil pan at the yard.

I'm trying to pull an oil pan off a 92 e34. I took out all the bolts i believe. It moves up and down everywhere besides the drivers side corner closer to the fire wall. There is a long 10mm that wouldnt come out to cut off the head. I can move it in and out but it wont pull all the way out. I have all the trans bolts removed as well.

I hammered the shit out it from the top as a last resort and just broke off the little ledge. Any ideas because i have about 3+ hours in this thing and its still at the yard. There is nothing immediatly under the pan. Thanks.

I just took one off at a local yard. obviously make sure you get all the 10mm bolts off around the pan. Unbolt engine mounts from subframe. Then you have to lift the engine out 4-5 inches (with the tranny attached). This also helps to get a couple 10mm bolts out that were hard to reach due to the subframe. The problem your experiencing is that the oil sump is stuck under the baffle. so it will not pull out. You need to pull the pan away from the block as far as you can so you can take an extended wrench and take off the 2 10mm bolts so the sump will drop out and the pan will now slide forward, down and out.

    good luck

Oh I missed the part about the stuck bolt. Looks like you'll have to drill it out.

o so it wont drop straight down. it has to go forward then down. that makes sense. that sucks because ill have to drill that bolt forever.

did you get the two other long bolts that are kinda hidden in a recessed hole? I couldn't get the pan off at the junkyard because of that. had to come home, do a bit of research and went back for it.

theres two more, theyre between the one you broke of and its match on the other side. There should be two holes where the bellhousing meets the block. shove a 10mm in there and get that bitch home.

there are two back there right by the flange where the tranny mates to. you can't see it from the outside cuz they are deep into a counterbored hole. get a flashlight under there and look. it shouldn't be that stuck. if it won't budge at all, you're still missing a bolt or two.

There is two 10mm bolts that are hiding inside. They are very hard to see if you don't know where to look.
