Just took my freshly swapped E30 for its first drive, strangely when I parked it and removed the key the engine continued to run for about 3-4 seconds before shutting off. I have since drove it around the block 3 three times and the problem persists.

Who did your C101 wiring? Also, when it dies does it sputter or does it sound like a normal car turning off.
I ask because if someone wired the ignition switch/switch power wrong, the ECU/ignition could get power to keep the car running until you run out of fuel pressure from the fuel pump turning off with the key. -
make sure you didn't reverse polarity at the battery junction terminal. make certain the brown wires are going to ground and not 12v source.
