    E30 S54 Swap Weight

    I finally had the opportunity to get my S54 Swapped 91 318is on some corner weight scales today so I figured I'd post this here for future reference. Here's a basic rundown of the build specs that largely impact weight:
    • 1991 318is w/ sunroof
    • ABS deleted
    • AC deleted
    • Massive dual master cylinder booster delete
    • Massive 300x32mm front and rear brakes w/ Wilwood Superlite Calipers
    • Cobra Nogaro front seats on Massive adapters to stock E30 manual sliders
    • S54 swap w/ Arc Asylum modified subframe and oil pan
    • Full supersprint E30 S54 swap exhaust - headers to muffler, no cats
    • E36 ZF 5 Speed
    • Z3M S54 radiator and E30 M20 oil cooler
    • Medium case differential
    • Ground Control Coilover sleeves and camber plates
    • Kosei K1 15x7 w/ 205/50/15 tires
    • No spare tire
    • No rear seat or interior carpet currently
    • All factory sound deadening is still present
    • About 1/8 tank of fuel
    • No driver

    Total weight: 2499lb

    LF: 697lb RF: 700lb
    LR: 551lb RR: 551lb

    I was surprised at how light this turned out. Curb weight will be closer to 2600lb with a full tank of fuel. I was expecting about 2700lb so this was a pleasant surprise.

    How do you like driving your E30 with S54 swap?

      It’s pretty awesome, very happy with it so far. I barely drove the car with the original M42 and it’s been several years so I had kinda forgotten how fun these cars are, and the linear power of the S54 suits it very well. I’m still sorting out a few things with the car but I hope to get to a track day in the coming months.
