S54 Swaps? I searched but found none?

Has anyone Done an S54 swap ? I searched but came up with nothing.... :?:

Someone in Finland apparently put an M54 into an E30 but I cant confirm it runs. I just saw pics on the .de a while back.

S54, HA! You know no E30 drivers can afford that.

I was actually just talking to one of the older techs at work about this. Apparently there is a S54 longblock with a bent rod just chilling outside of the shop. :)

One of the biggest problems is that you cannot convert the engine management to OBD1 without going full standalone. And AFAIK only a few, very sophisticated standalone systems (Motec, etc.) can control the S54's dual, infinitely-variable vanos. EWS would pose an issue as well.

There's an E36 S54 up here, MarkD setup the engine management. Same with an S54-swapped Z3.

There's a S54 E30 M3 supposedly being built here in Australia..however it's all very hush hush. If it ever eventuates, I'll definitely post up the info!
