This is doable for sure. Here is one that we made for my car a while ago:

This is a collapsible unit as well, very easy to install. If there is enough interest I am sure Tyler can put these into production as well.

Look up the steering ratios and you can tell the actual relationship.

    for lock to lock comparison
The e46 zhp rack is the quickest lock to lock, 2.6 compared to 2.7 for e36/7 z3, 3.0 for e36m

The ZCP rack from the competition and CSL is 2.7 turns lock to lock. I have one in my 06 M3. Let's just say that when I swap cars from my E30 M3, I have to be careful not to curb the wheels in a turn..... Way faster....

e46 rack is all quicker (newer) and probably the same price as an e36 rack. bolts in the same (and "fits" the same way) into e30

But E85, yes, pretty much E46 front end so same bolt spacing for the rack as E36/E30

e85 z4 rack is the new cool thing to install into your e46.
e46 330i sport late model also has a quick ratio rack
e36/7 z3 rack was popular for a while.
e36 328 has the more angle for drifting
e36 3.2 us M3 rack is same as a 328 but with less travel.
e36 95 m3 rack has a slow ratio and is old/weird/rare. but s50 fanbois love it.

all these above racks seem to be PNP for any e36, I've ran a few of them in an e36. e36 racks fit into e30's with some weird work - I don't know specifics as I run a E30 rack in my e30.

what I want is a clean steering imput joint for E30 chassis + any of the above racks.
